HANDCRAFTED - SUSTAINABLE - BEAUTIFUL

Our mission is to build beautiful wood furniture using only sustainable materials and methods. Our specialty is making natural live edge wood slab tables, consoles and benches but we also build beautiful furnishings and objects using reclaimed, salvaged and upcycled materials.  All of our products are built by hand and crafted here in beautiful Pasadena, California.  We service not just the Los Angeles and Southern California region but beyond, offering our furnishings across the country.

HANDCRAFTED

Looking for something that was mass-produced in the hundreds or thousands?  Well, you won't find anything like that here.  We curate every piece of wood that comes into our workshop for uniqueness, integrity and beauty because if we don't fall in love with a particular piece then we won't work on it.  Every one of our furnishings and objects is handcrafted from start to finish.  This includes our hand-welded metal legs and bases (we're also fabricators!).  We also collaborate with some of California's most talented artists and craftsmen, incorporating their skills in different materials and mediums into our work, creating some of the most unique and beautiful objects you will ever see.  Each Pasadenaville live edge wood design and reclaimed work is unique and built to showcase the natural quality of the selected materials and the craftsmanship that goes into them, becoming legacy pieces to be passed down and appreciated for generations.

Each board and plank can only have one ideal use. The woodworker, applying a thousand skills, must find this ideal use and create an object of utility to man, and if nature smiles an object of lasting beauty.
— George Nakashima (1905-1990), master woodworker & author of "Soul of a Tree"

SUSTAINABILITY

Most of our woods are sourced from trees that were naturally felled or downed due to development, public safety or disease prevention.  For example, some of our Maple comes from upstate New York where an active effort to eradicate the devastating gypsy moth means bringing down these trees to mitigate the spread of this pest.  Rather than grind the remains (unusable as lumber) into wood chips then dumped in a landfill as waste we use them to make beautiful furnishings.  We've also cultivated special relationships with small family-run mills who not only adhere to strict FSC standards but are active in environmental conservation efforts because their livelihoods depend on it.  We're proud to hold high standards of environmental sustainability in making our products for you.

The battle we fight on behalf of the forests is part of the eternal conflict between right and wrong. We must continue watching and striving for these trees, and should always be glad to find anything so surely good and noble to strive for.

BEAUTY & PASSION

Woodworking is more than a hobby or a business for me.  It's a passion, and one that I'm happy to share with you.  My appreciation for nature and activism in environmental sustainability made it an easy progression for me to take woodworking to a new level, where all of my designs and creations utilize sustainable methods and materials.  In addition, I continue to experiment with new ideas and designs, and bringing to life unique creations that started only as a dream or a thought.  I started Pasadenaville with the purpose of offering beautiful and unique, natural furnishings at affordable prices.  And I have no doubt that every one of my customers will see the passion and joy that went into every one of our pieces.

I look forward to working with you!
